Privacy policy
Short version: Gift Almanac doesn't ask who you are, doesn't use cookies, and doesn't track you. The only thing it stores is your country choice, in your own browser.

Who we are
Gift Almanac (giftalmanac.com) is published by Geared Pty Ltd, a company registered in Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Visitors in the UK and EU also have rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.
What we collect
- No accounts, no forms, no newsletter. The site is a set of static pages. You can't sign up or log in, and we don't ask for your name or email.
- No cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, ad networks or similar tools. The pages don't load fonts, scripts or images from other companies.
- Your country choice. When you pick Australia, the UK or the US at the top of the page (or we guess it from your browser's time zone and language), the choice is saved in your browser's localStorage under the name
ga-region. It never leaves your device and we can't see it. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for giftalmanac.com.
Our web host
The site is served by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and may keep short-lived logs for security. We don't use these logs to identify anyone. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Links to shops
Gift Almanac links to other shops. When you click through, you leave our site, and the shop's own privacy policy and cookies apply. Today our links are plain links. If we add affiliate links later, the shop or affiliate network may set a cookie on their site to record that you came from us; we'll label those links and update this page before that happens. See our affiliate disclosure.
If you email us at hello@giftalmanac.com, we'll use your address and message only to reply, and we won't add you to any list. We delete correspondence we no longer need.
Your rights and contact
You can ask what personal information we hold about you (almost certainly none, unless you've emailed us), ask us to correct or delete it, or complain about how we've handled it. Email hello@giftalmanac.com. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (or, in the UK, the ICO).
Changes
If we change what the site collects, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
